How to grow long & thick hair?

Updated: Jun 1, 2024

Growing your hair does not happen over night, it is a life style. It will change your whole life by doing new things and by being a whole new person - the best version of yourself, giving time to yourself and giving love to yourself.

Oiling your hair

In order to grow, you must eat. Everything in life wants to have food including your body, your mind, your soul, as well your skin, your lashes, your hair. They all need nutritional foods with good healthy fats, proteins, minerals and vitamins. Oiling your hear 1-2 per week will nourish your hair roots with all the essential vitamins so they can grow thicker, fuller and longer. Everything starts from the roots.

Oiling the hair is an ancient practice that has been used to strengthen and moisturize hair, and many believe it’s an important step for making sure your strands get a good balance of vitamins. Certain oils made for the scalp can be very nourishing, reducing dryness, itchiness, and flakiness, and giving your scalp and hair follicles nutrients, stimulating hair growth, and amplifying overall scalp health. Oiling also forms a protective layer for the hair shaft, making it especially useful when people blow-dry their hair and other procedures are done to the hair, as it becomes very brittle and fragile. Additionally, massaging your scalp and hair helps to increase blood circulation, thus promoting hair growth.

Exercise regularly

Regular exercise plays a crucial role in promoting hair growth by improving overall health and well-being. Stress Reduction: Exercise helps reduce stress levels, which is a significant contributor to hair loss. When we exercise, our body releases endorphins, also known as “feel-good” hormones, which help alleviate stress and promote a sense of calm. Improved Blood Circulation: Exercise increases blood flow to the scalp, which is essential for delivering oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. This, in turn, promotes healthy hair growth and strengthens the hair roots. Boosted Testosterone Levels: Exercise can help regulate testosterone levels, which is important for hair growth. High levels of testosterone can lead to hair loss, while moderate levels promote healthy hair growth. Reduced Inflammation: Exercise has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation in the scalp, a common cause of hair loss. Improved Sleep: Regular exercise promotes better sleep quality, which is essential for hair growth. During sleep, our body repairs and regenerates hair follicles, making it an essential component of the hair growth cycle.

Eat nutritional rich foods

Regular exercise encourages a healthy appetite and helps regulate metabolism, leading to better nutrition and a balanced diet. A diet rich in vitamins and minerals, particularly those essential for hair growth such as biotin, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids, supports healthy hair growth. Use sulphate-free shampoos or herbs to wash your hair

Sulphate shampoo is not always bad, you just have to know when to use it. If you are using a lot of different hair care products that cause a build up for you hair and are hard to remove then you should use a sulphate shampoo 1-2 per month to make a restart for you hair. But even better is to use natural hair detox care products once a week.

But if you use sulphate-shampoo every day it can lead to hair loss. Sulphate-free shampoo is important to grow hair because it helps to maintain the natural oils on the scalp and hair, which ultimately leaves your hair with more moisture. Sulphates can strip the hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness, brittleness, and breakage. Sulphate-free shampoos, on the other hand, work to lock-in moisture and prevent dryness, which is essential for healthy hair growth. Additionally, sulphate-free shampoos can help to restore the natural shininess and softness of the hair, making it look healthier and more vibrant.

Cut your split ends

You do not have to cut your ends all the time otherwise you will not grow them if you cut them too often. Instead you should regularly cut your split ends hair by hair with small scissors. Aswell you should use hair oil which cures split ends.

Stop using heating tools

It is necessary to stop using heat styling tools because they can cause significant damage to your hair. When you use heat styling tools, you are exposing your hair to high temperatures that can cause the cuticle layer of your hair to lift and become damaged. This can lead to a range of problems, including dryness, brittleness, and breakage. This is because heat styling tools can strip your hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness and damage.

Medidation

Meditation is essential for hair growth as it helps to reduce stress and anxiety, which are major contributors to hair loss. By incorporating meditation into your daily routine, you can promote healthier hair growth and prevent hair loss. Here’s how meditation can help:

Reduces cortisol levels: High cortisol levels can cause hair loss, and meditation has been shown to decrease cortisol levels by up to 20%. By reducing cortisol, meditation can help promote healthier hair growth.

Improves blood flow: Meditation can improve blood flow to the scalp, which is essential for nourishing hair follicles and promoting hair growth.

Reduces stress: Meditation is a powerful stress-reducing technique that can help alleviate anxiety and worry, which are common causes of hair loss.

Promotes emotional regulation: Meditation can help regulate emotions, which is essential for maintaining healthy hair growth. Emotional stress can cause hair loss, and meditation can help reduce this stress.

Improves overall well-being: Meditation can improve overall well-being, which is essential for maintaining healthy hair growth. By promoting overall well-being, meditation can help promote healthier hair growth and prevent hair loss.

Incorporating meditation into your daily routine can be as simple as setting aside a few minutes each day to practice mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, or guided meditation. You can also try incorporating meditation into your daily activities, such as while brushing your teeth or taking a shower. By making meditation a regular part of your routine, you can promote healthier hair growth and prevent hair loss.

Dermastamp

If you have lost a lot of hair, then you should consider to dermastamp your scalp once a week. Usually it is recommended to use 1mm-1.5mm long stainless steel needles. I personally recommend dermastamp over dermaroller since roller breaks hair if you have long hair and the recovery is longer than with stamp. Always use sterilized stamp and on clean scalp to make sure no infection goes in.
